At the very center of the Mid-Hudson Valley, at the center of Dutchess County, at the confluence of the two Wappingers Creeks, is Mawenawasigh, home of Sycamore Healing Arts, home of Earth School. A magical place, within a magical place, within a magical place.
Earth School weaves healing practices such as meditation, yoga and communication exercises with a study of the world of nature. Just as yoga teaches strength, focus and flexibility on the mat to help us develop and use these skills in our daily lives, Earth School uses nature as a powerful lens through which we can view common threads in all the patterns and systems we participate in. As we connect together in the garden to sow and nurture the food that will nourish our bodies, we also sow and nurture seeds of growth within ourselves.
We all have healing to do. This curriculum puts all the pieces together and allows us to view and heal the whole system. It will benefit anyone with a desire to improve themselves, their relationships, and the larger world.
